I started latindictionary.io when I was 14 — a freshman in high school — inspired by my mom (a Latin teacher) and encouraged by my dad (a software engineer). I taught myself to code so I could build the dictionary, parser, and eventually the Latin games, because I wanted to share the joy of learning Latin with others.

Now, more than four years later as a freshman in college, I still work on the site as a labor of love. All site expenses — hosting, databases, and everything else — are covered out of my pocket to keep these resources free for everyone.

Over 99% of users don't contribute, but if only 1% of our users donated $1, we would be able to cover our expenses and eventually go ad free!
