Teen Talent LLC operates latindictionary.io, Latin Wordle, and Latin Connections. This policy explains how information is used across these services. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@latindictionary.io.

Accounts and saved information

You can use the dictionary, library, and games without creating an account. If you sign in using an email link or Google, we process your email address and account identifiers to authenticate you. Google sign-in can also provide your name and profile image.

Your account can store your name, profile image, student or teacher role, school, profile visibility, and preferences. We also store word lists you create, their descriptions and vocabulary, starred words, and records of word-list views when you are signed in. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message.

What other visitors can see

Profiles are public by default. When your profile is public, other visitors can find it and see your name, image, role, school, account creation date, and public word lists. Your email address is not included in the public profile.

You can change profile visibility in profile settings. Word lists have their own public/private setting. A public list shows its creator’s name and image even if their profile is private. Making your profile private does not make your public lists private. Public content may also be copied by visitors or indexed by search engines.

Searches, text analysis, and images

Words and passages you submit are sent to our services to look up vocabulary and analyze grammar. To improve dictionary coverage, we log some searches that return no results, including the submitted text, language, time, and result information. The current no-result logging flow does not attach your account ID to these records. Older query records may retain an account association.

Image-to-text recognition runs in your browser. The image is processed there; extracted text is sent to our services when you submit it for analysis. Avoid submitting confidential documents or personal information that is not needed for a lookup.

Cookies, browser storage, and analytics

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, save game progress and statistics, and manage prompts you have already seen. Clearing browser storage can reset these local settings and game records.

We use PostHog to understand visits and use of features such as searches, word lists, study sessions, and games. These events include page paths, interaction and result information, device/browser information, and pseudonymous identifiers. Our PostHog configuration disables session recordings and automatic capture of page text and clicks. It excludes names, email addresses, and raw search text from our analytics event properties, and removes query strings and fragments from recorded URLs. The separate search logs described above can still contain submitted text.

An analytics identifier can connect visits across the dictionary and game subdomains. When you sign in on the main site, it can be linked to your internal account ID and profile attributes such as role and whether you have supplied a school. This means usage analytics are not necessarily anonymous. Latin Wordle and Latin Connections also include Vercel Analytics for website usage measurement.

Game events

Latin Wordle events include valid words submitted as guesses, guess order, puzzle identifiers, and completion results. They do not include individual keystrokes or invalid guesses. Latin Connections events include puzzle identifiers, guess counts, correctness, mistakes, and completion results. Game events do not include your name or email address, but can be connected through the analytics identifier described above.

Advertising and your choices

The site uses Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies, IP addresses, device/browser information, and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads. Advertising cookies can support personalized ads based on visits to this and other websites. Depending on your location and choices, ads may instead be non-personalized or limited. Non-personalized ads can still use cookies for purposes such as fraud prevention and frequency capping.

Where Google’s consent message applies, use it to accept, decline, or manage the available advertising choices. The Privacy and cookie settings control in the footer lets you reopen those choices when available. This advertising control is not a sitewide analytics opt-out. Declining personalized ads does not prevent you from using the dictionary.

You can also manage Google ad personalization in My Ad Center or use YourAdChoices for participating advertising providers. Your browser provides cookie and storage controls. These choices may apply only to the browser or account where you make them and do not remove all ads.

Service providers and payments

We use service providers to operate the site, including Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and storage, PostHog for product analytics, and Google for sign-in and advertising. Hosting, authentication, email-delivery, and security providers process information needed to deliver their services, which can include IP addresses, request details, and account information.

Optional donations take you to Stripe’s hosted checkout. Stripe processes the payment and the details you enter there under its own privacy policy. We can receive donation and transaction information needed to administer the payment; payment-card details are entered with Stripe rather than in a form hosted by this site.

Information may also be disclosed when needed to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, or protect the service and its users. Our providers may process information outside the country where you live. External links and advertisements lead to services with their own privacy practices.

Retention and account deletion

Account information and saved lists remain stored unless they are changed or deleted. Game progress stored in your browser remains until you reset it or clear that storage. Search logs, analytics, service logs, support correspondence, and payment records have separate retention arrangements; deleting your profile does not automatically erase all of them.

To request deletion of your account, profile images, and saved word lists, email privacy@latindictionary.io from the email address associated with your account. Account deletion is handled by request, not automatically through the website. We may need to verify that the information belongs to you before processing the request. Deleting your site account does not delete your Google account if you used Google to sign in.

Tell us if your request also covers search or analytics records so we can assess what can be identified and removed. Some records may need to be retained for legal, payment, or security reasons, and copies may remain in provider backups until those backups expire.

Managing your information

You can edit profile information and preferences in profile settings, change individual word-list visibility, and delete lists you no longer want to keep. Browser controls let you clear locally stored game records and cookies; doing so does not delete server-side account data.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict certain uses, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Email privacy@latindictionary.io to make a request or ask about your options. Include the account email and the information your request concerns, but do not send passwords or payment-card details.

Students, parents, and teachers

The site is used for learning, including in classrooms. Avoid putting student personal information into public profiles, lists, or submitted passages. Parents, guardians, and teachers who have concerns about a student’s information can contact privacy@latindictionary.io.

Security and policy updates

We use authentication and access controls to protect account features and private lists. No website or storage system can guarantee complete security. Please report suspected unauthorized access or a privacy problem to privacy@latindictionary.io.

We will update this page as the service or its data practices change and revise the date above.
